The pictures


1.  A drawing from a collection of images illustrating the battle against British forces at Yorktown, Virginia.

2.  A famous image used by the opponents of slavery.

3.  A reproduction of the text on the title page of the Articles of Confederation.

5.  George Washington.  He served as president of the Constitutional Convention that met in Philadelphia in 1787.

4.  A reproduction of the text on the title page of The Federalist.  The essays originally ran in newspapers to gain support for the Constitution.
