| The photographs below show actual stock
certificates used in the past by some famous American
corporations. Shares of stock represent partial ownership of a
corporation. With today's electronic systems for buying or
selling stock, investors normally do not receive printed certificates
like these. Instead, they receive an account statement each year
from a stock broker that looks much like a bank statement. |
