The Pictures:
 
1.  A Native American with a bow and arrow.  The weapon was actually very accurate and deadly, but the loud noise of guns gave Europeans a great psychological advantage in battle.

2.  A Catholic missionary priest holding the Cross, a symbol of Christianity.  The Spanish missions tried to defend the Indians from exploitation by colonists, but also forced Indians to adopt European ways of life and religious worship.

3.  Bartolome de Las Casas, a Spanish missionary priest who became famous for his arguments on behalf of the Native Americans. 

4.  A globe, illustrating the fact that by 1600, Europeans had explored and mapped large areas of the world.
